The U.S. State Department has approved two possible Foreign Military Sales to Israel, totaling approximately $7.41 billion, for Hellfire missiles and a range of munitions, guidance kits, and fuzes.
The Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) has notified Congress of both transactions.
The first sale, valued at $660 million, includes 3,000 AGM-114 Hellfire air-to-ground missiles, along with related equipment such as support and test systems, spare parts, software, training, and logistics services. Lockheed Martin will be the principal contractor. Deliveries are expected to begin in 2028.
The second sale, worth $6.75 billion, involves a range of air-launched munitions, including 2,166 GBU-39/B Small Diameter Bombs, 2,800 MK 82 bomb bodies, and over 17,000 FMU-152A/B fuzes. It also includes Joint Direct Attack Munition (JDAM) guidance kits for various bomb types. Deliveries are expected to begin in 2025. Contractors involved in this sale include Boeing, ATK Tactical Systems, L3Harris, and McAlester Army Ammunition Plant.
According to the State Department, these sales support U.S. interests by enhancing Israel’s defense capabilities and interoperability with U.S. forces. The transactions are not expected to alter the regional military balance.
