GE Aerospace has signed a five-year Performance Based Logistics (PBL) agreement with the Indian Air Force (IAF).
This agreement will provide comprehensive support for the T700-GE-701D engines powering the IAF’s AH-64E-I Apache helicopters.
Under the contract, GE Aerospace will manage the Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) of the T700 engines and supply essential flight line parts to ensure continuous engine availability for the Apache fleet.
This PBL initiative is designed to improve engine sustainment, accelerate turnaround times, and enhance the operational readiness of the Apache helicopters.
"This PBL agreement highlights our commitment to providing reliable sustainment solutions and supporting the IAF's mission readiness by keeping the T700 engines at peak performance." said Youngje Kim, vice president and general manager for Asia Pacific, Defense & Systems at GE Aerospace.
The T700/CT7 engine family powers a wide variety of military and civilian helicopters and fixed-wing aircraft. more than 25,000 T700/CT7 engines have been delivered, accumulating around 130 million flight hours.
The engine has proven its durability and performance in some of the most demanding conditions, including active combat zones such as Iraq and Afghanistan.
