Indra, UAE’s Katim to Develop NATO Confidential Level Mobile Telephony Solutions

Indra has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with EDGE-subsidiary Katim, with a view to working together on certifying and marketing ultra-secure mobile telephony solutions to protect the communications of government agencies and allied countries.

The signing took place at the IDEX-2025 exhibition held in Abu Dhabi from February 17 to 21.

With the signing of this Agreement, Indra and Katim will work together on certifying mobile telephony solutions at national and NATO Confidential level. They will therefore tailor their respective solutions to the specific needs of each client. Both companies will be involved in controlling the entire supply chain to offer the end user complete reliability.

Among other systems, Indra has COMSec, a secure communications solution that provides encrypted voice, instant messaging and video services over cellphones via any cellular, wireless or satellite network in the world, adapted for use in the administration of the State and army and other organizations and companies. As for Katim, the company offers, among other products, an ultra-secure mobile terminal that employs a multi-layered encryption model, delivering unparalleled protection and unmatched security features.

This partnership will enable the two companies to offer their systems to different countries, agencies and institutions, including NATO countries and, in particular, the Spanish Ministry of Defence.
