First AH-64 Apache Helicopter for Australia Nears Completion
AH-64 Apache for Australia

The first AH-64E Apache attack reconnaissance helicopter for the Australian Army has reached the final assembly stage at Boeing’s production facility in Mesa, Arizona.

Designated AT001, the helicopter is undergoing structural, electrical, and mechanical installations before entering flight testing later this year. Australia has ordered 29 AH-64E Apaches, which will be stationed in Townsville, North Queensland. The first four aircraft are set for delivery in late 2025.

Several Australian companies are supplying key components, including Cablex for wiring, Axiom Precision Manufacturing for avionics bay shelving, Ferra for vertical spar boxes, and Mincham for composites and fairings.
