Oshkosh Defense has received a $95 million order from U.S. Army Contracting Command – Detroit Arsenal for modernized heavy tactical vehicles under the Family of Heavy Tactical Vehicle (FHTV) V contract.
The order includes the autonomy-ready Palletized Load System (PLS) A2, designed to improve battlefield logistics and soldier safety.
The PLS A2 incorporates driver assistance and autonomy-ready technologies, allowing the vehicle to operate with reduced human intervention. The system integrates by-wire and active-safety systems to enhance situational awareness and mitigate risks during operations. The flexible design enables future upgrades, aligning with the Army’s evolving logistics strategy.
Production of the PLS A2 is set to begin this year. The FHTV V contract allows for continued advancements in heavy tactical vehicles and trailers.
