Denmark has approved a 6.7 billion Danish kroner ($970 million) military aid package for Ukraine, ensuring continued support from 2025 to 2027.
The package, financed through the Ukraine Foundation, includes air defense, artillery, and financial contributions to Ukraine's air force.
Danish Defense Minister Troels Lund Poulsen emphasized the need for sustained assistance, stating, "The security situation is developing rapidly. It is therefore crucial that Denmark continues its massive support for Ukraine." The aid package, Denmark’s 25th since the war began, aims to bolster Ukraine’s defense in both the short and long term.
The aid framework designates 1.4 billion kroner ($203 million) from 2025 to 2027 for artillery capabilities and ammunition donations through allied cooperation. Additional funds are allocated for air defense, drone development, and IT systems.
Denmark will also contribute 2 billion kroner ($290 million) in 2026 and 2027 to strengthen Ukraine’s defense industry. Poulsen stressed the importance of this investment, noting that Ukrainian manufacturers have demonstrated the capacity to produce military equipment.
In 2024, Denmark allocated 4.4 billion kroner ($637 million) to Ukraine’s defense industry. The Danish Ministry of Defense is now planning the 2025 allocation while coordinating with the E.U. and other allies to enhance oversight and auditing measures.
