Rheinmetall Acquires Ammunition Disposal Firm Stascheit GmbH

Rheinmetall has announced the acquisition of Stascheit GmbH, a company specializing in ammunition detection, recovery, and disposal, based in Gardelegen, Saxony-Anhalt.

A purchase and assignment agreement for the transaction has been signed, marking a strategic step in strengthening Rheinmetall’s role in the field of explosive ordnance disposal.

Stascheit GmbH will become a wholly-owned subsidiary of Rheinmetall Project Solutions GmbH, expanding the company’s capabilities to deliver integrated services in the defense and security sector.

Rheinmetall is targeting medium-term annual sales of approximately €80 million from this acquisition. The deal follows a history of successful cooperation between the two firms, including projects involving the detection and removal of explosive ordnance in the North Sea during offshore wind farm maintenance, as well as destruction of munitions ahead of submarine pipeline installations in the Baltic Sea and Spain.

Stascheit GmbH’s core operations include the detection, assessment, recovery, and destruction of unexploded ordnance, archaeological prospection, and site contamination investigations. The company is also experienced in complex underwater recovery and diving operations.
