Portugal Orders Sixth KC-390 Aircraft Contract
Brazilian KC-390 Millennium transport plane

Portugal has signed a deal with Embraer for a sixth KC-390 Millennium aircraft, becoming the first operator to expand its fleet of the Brazilian-made transport plane.

The September 17 amendment also adds ten purchase options for potential partner nations.

The KC-390 Millennium is capable of carrying up to 26 tons of payload, flying at speeds of 470 knots, and performing missions ranging from cargo transport and troop deployment to medical evacuation, firefighting, and humanitarian relief. It can also operate from temporary or unpaved runways and be configured for air-to-air refueling.
