Hanwha Aerospace has signed a three-year framework agreement with the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV), including an initial order worth about $110 million to supply Modular Charge Systems (MCS) for Sweden’s artillery forces.
The contract was formalized on October 15 during the Association of the United States Army (AUSA) 2025 Annual Meeting in Washington, D.C.
This is the second MCS supply agreement between Hanwha Aerospace and Sweden, following an initial deal last year.
The MCS is a modular propellant system for 155mm artillery platforms, allowing crews to adjust propellant charges for specific range and firing needs. The system complies with NATO standards, making it compatible with various artillery systems, including Hanwha’s K9 Self-Propelled Howitzer.
Hanwha Aerospace also plans to expand cooperation with neighboring countries such as Norway and propose additional weapon systems to Sweden, including the K9 Self-Propelled Howitzer and the Chunmoo Multiple Rocket Launcher System.
