L3Harris Technologies has secured a $2.26 billion contract to supply modified Bombardier Global 6500 airborne early warning and control (AEW&C) aircraft to the Republic of Korea Air Force.

Under the deal, L3Harris will partner with Bombardier, Israel Aerospace Industries’ (IAI) ELTA Systems, and Korean Air to deliver and sustain a new fleet designed to bolster South Korea’s air surveillance and command capabilities.

The modified Global 6500 aircraft will provide extended range, higher cruising altitudes, and longer mission endurance to enhance situational awareness and threat detection. The AEW&C platforms will feature radar technology and a communications suite enabling full interoperability with U.S., NATO, and coalition forces.

Korean Air will lead the in-country support and sustainment of the AEW&C fleet, with future roles in manufacturing and operational maintenance.
