Raytheon UK has been awarded a contract to support the UK’s Space Domain Awareness (SDA) mission by providing a team of specialist orbital analysts.
As part of the agreement, the UK Space Agency will gain access to Raytheon UK’s NORSSTrack software, a system designed to track and map satellites, monitor space debris and potential collisions, assess satellite re-entries, and deliver vital data to improve operational decision-making.
According to RTX Corporation, the analysts will be based at the National Space Operations Centre at RAF High Wycombe, where they will provide analysis and response capabilities that reinforce the UK’s growing leadership in space operations.
Space domain awareness is recognised as a vital national capability, ensuring that the UK can operate safely, securely, and confidently in an increasingly competitive and contested space environment.
As highlighted in the UK’s Strategic Defence Review, SDA plays a central role in protecting critical space assets and strengthening resilience across government, defence, and industry.
James Gray, Chief Executive and Managing Director of Raytheon UK, said “We’ve invested heavily in developing this talent, particularly in the North East, as part of our continued support of space domain awareness.”
