Russian Arms Exports through Rosoboronexport Surpass $230B

Russian arms exports facilitated through Rosoboronexport, the state arms exporter under Rostec, have exceeded $230 billion since its founding, Rostec CEO Sergey Chemezov said.

“Over the past quarter century, Rosoboronexport has become a leader in the global arms market, significantly increasing its order book and supply volume. The company has signed over 30,000 contracts with partners and exported products to over 120 countries worth over $230 billion,” Chemezov said, according to a statement released by Rostec.

The announcement coincides with Rosoboronexport’s 25th anniversary in 2025. The company, established in 2000, serves as Russia’s sole authorized intermediary for the export and import of military and dual-use equipment, technologies, and services. It currently manages over 85% of Russia’s total arms supplies abroad.

Chemezov said the company’s order book has reached a record $60 billion, reflecting continued demand for Russian-made weapons. In May, Rosoboronexport reported that it had signed more than 20 new contracts worth $7 billion since the beginning of 2025. More than half of its current portfolio is tied to air force equipment exports.

Rosoboronexport’s activities now include organizing licensed production of Russian aircraft, helicopters, and armored vehicles abroad, alongside modernization programs for previously supplied systems. It also supports the training of foreign military personnel in cooperation with Russian instructors.

“Most of the systems offered by Rosoboronexport to its partners have sufficient operational experience in real combat conditions,” said Rosoboronexport Director General Alexander Mikheev. “Our customers study this experience and draw conclusions in favor of our products.”

According to Rostec, the company is focusing on expanding its supply network to markets in Asia, Africa, and the Middle East. “Rosoboronexport is adapting to the new reality, strengthening its position, and discovering new opportunities and prospects,” Chemezov said.
