Ukrainian Firm Develops Acoustic System for Drone Detection & Targeting

Ukrainian company ARes has created a new acoustic system that can detect drones and missiles in any weather or time of day.

The system was presented at the Brave1 Components exhibition.

According to the company, it can spot FPV drones at 200–300 meters and Shahed drones at up to 5 kilometers, confirmed by field tests.

The system is fully passive, scans the whole sky, and can track several targets at once, even in noisy urban areas. It has also been tested during real Shahed attacks, cruise-missile launches, and FPV-drone trials.

ARes is also working on a smaller version that can be installed on ground drones to better counter FPV attacks and protect logistics routes.

The system provides precise target coordinates and includes a webcam with an acoustic overlay to show the direction of the threat.
