ASELSAN and Malaysian shipyard NAVAMAS have signed a Teaming Agreement on 22 December to jointly develop a mission-ready Unmanned Surface Vessel (USV) tailored for Malaysian end users.
The USV will be designed to meet the operational requirements of the Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN) and the Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA), with the aim of enhancing maritime surveillance, security, and defense capabilities.
Under the agreement, ASELSAN will contribute its advanced mission payloads, sensor suites, and autonomous systems, while NAVAMAS will provide local shipbuilding expertise, platform integration, and in-country support. The collaboration is intended to deliver a USV capable of supporting surveillance, patrol, and security operations across Malaysia’s extensive maritime domain.
Key objectives of the partnership include technology transfer, workforce development, and the establishment of sustainable local capabilities in unmanned maritime systems.
