U.S. Army Awards Elbit Systems $228M Bradley Vehicle Protection Contract

Elbit Systems has secured a $228 million contract to supply its Iron Fist active protection system for U.S. Army Bradley infantry fighting vehicles under an award led by General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems.

The deal follows a U.S. government announcement on 29 September 2025 confirming that General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems was selected for the Bradley active protection system program, with Elbit Systems providing the core technology.

Iron Fist is designed to counter threats including anti-tank rockets, anti-tank guided missiles, unmanned aerial systems, loitering munitions, and kinetic-energy tank ammunition, with coverage intended for both open terrain and urban operations.

The latest order marks the third time the U.S. Army has selected Iron Fist for its armoured vehicle fleets. The contract also builds on earlier work between the companies, including a contract made public in May 2024 and a separate follow-on agreement that year linked to enhancements of the Bradley M2A4E1 infantry fighting vehicle.
