Over the last three months Aero Vodochody, Inc, (Aero) has acquired three new contracts in an amount totaling over EUR 150 million. The most significant of these projects was concluded on Thursday, January 28th, 2010 with the Sikorsky Aircraft Corporation. Based on it, Aero will become a supplier of the cockpit for the legendary military Black Hawk helicopter. The contract is concluded until 2017 with possibility to extend by further 5 years. The new production and the supply of cockpits will start in the half of 2011. Sikorsky Aircraft is a subsidiary of United Technologies Corp. “These new contracts are clear proof as to the high competitiveness of Aero on the world market, and our ability to offer our partners professionalism in development and production on international cooperative projects, and military programs as well,” Ladislav Šimek, President of Aero Vodochody. Two new contracts which have already been signed in the military field regard repair and development of products within Aero’s own branch, further information is not open to the public. Aero Vodochody highlights the balanced development of both airline cooperation and military programs. At the beginning of January 2010, two independent divisions were distinguished: Aerostructures Programs and MRO, these two form the basic pillars of Aero Enterprises. “The goal is to increase the focus on current and new business circumstances, to simplify the running of individual factory processes, and to adjust to aspects that are very different in both fields,” Ladislav Šimek added.
