India Successfully Test-Fires Agni-3 Intermediate Range Ballistic Missile

India successfully test-fired the Agni-3 Intermediate Range Ballistic Missile (IRBM) from the Integrated Test Range (ITR), Chandipur, in Odisha on February 6, 2026.

The test was conducted under the aegis of the Strategic Forces Command (SFC) and validated all operational and technical parameters, confirming the missile’s reliability and accuracy.

Agni-3 is a nuclear-capable, surface-to-surface ballistic missile developed by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) as part of India’s indigenous Agni missile programme.

With a range of approximately 3,000 to 3,500 kilometers, the missile can carry both conventional and nuclear warheads. It uses a two-stage solid-fuel propulsion system, enabling rapid launch readiness and improved operational flexibility, and is equipped with advanced inertial navigation systems for enhanced accuracy.

The missile can be launched from road-mobile platforms, increasing survivability and making detection more difficult.
