Ukrainian Flamingo cruise missiles struck the Votkinsk plant, which manufactures Iskander, Topol-M, and Oreshnik ballistic missiles. The plant is located approximately 1,300 km from the Ukrainian border.
This was reported by analysts from the Cyberboroshno project. However, there is no official confirmation of damage either from Kyiv or Moscow.
Videos showing the aftermath of the strike, allegedly geolocated the site of the explosion, and confirmed that the plant’s production facilities were damaged as a result of the Ukrainian attack. The unverified videos appeared in Ukrainian Telegram and other social media channels.
The channels claimed “large-scale fire” on the plant’s territory and up to 11 persons injured. In addition, local residents published photos showing broken windows in nearby residential buildings, which may indicate the significant power of the explosion.
The Flamingo is a Ukrainian-made missile that is reported to have a range of up to 3,000 kilometers (1,864 miles) and carry a warhead weighing around 1,150 kilograms.
Hours before the strike, Denys Shtilierman, the co-owner of Firepoint, the Ukrainian firm behind the Flamingo, posted a video on X showing the launch of a Flamingo missile with the cryptic caption, "No context. Context – later." He did not elaborate further.
