Qatar and U.A.E have announced the interception of a large numbers of Iranian missiles and drones during recent attacks.
According to Qatar’s Ministry of Defense, two ballistic missiles were detected and destroyed on March 3 before they reached Qatari territory. Since the start of the escalation, Qatari forces reported detecting three cruise missiles, 101 ballistic missiles, 39 drones, and two Sukhoi Su-24 fighter aircraft.
Qatar said it successfully intercepted three cruise missiles, 98 ballistic missiles, 24 drones, and both SU-24 aircraft. On March 2, the Qatar Emiri Air Force also confirmed shooting down two SU-24 jets and intercepting seven ballistic missiles and five drones. Officials stated that all threats were neutralized before reaching their intended targets.
Meanwhile, the UAE Ministry of Defence reported that since the beginning of the escalation, 174 ballistic missiles were detected, with 161 intercepted and 13 falling into the sea. The UAE also reported detecting eight cruise missiles, all of which were intercepted.
In addition, Emirati forces detected 689 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), intercepting 645 of them, while 44 impacted within state territory. Authorities said most threats were destroyed before reaching populated or strategic areas.
