Israel said it struck Iran’s leadership compound in Tehran, describing it as the regime’s “most central and significant headquarters.”

In a statement, the Israel Defense Forces said the Israeli Air Force carried out overnight strikes on Monday “acting on precise intelligence,” targeting facilities within the compound in central Tehran.

The IDF said numerous munitions were dropped on the Presidential Office and the building of the Supreme National Security Council. It also said the gathering site of the regime’s senior security decision-making forum and an institution for training Iranian military officers were targeted, along with other key infrastructure.

This command headquarters was one of the most heavily secured assets in Iran,” the IDF said.

“The regime’s leadership and senior security officials frequently convened at the compound, from which they conducted situational assessments regarding Iran’s nuclear program and advanced the plan for the destruction of the State of Israel,” the military stated further.

The compound was also used by Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, who was killed on Saturday when Israel and the U.S. launched what they described as “pre-emptive strikes” on Iran.
