Drone Strikes Saudi’s Samref Oil Refinery, one of the Gulf’s Largest

 drone has struck the Samref oil refinery in western Saudi Arabia, crashing into an object on the facility's grounds.

The Saudi Defense Ministry confirmed the incident and stated that damage is currently being assessed.

Eyewitness reported flames rising from the ground of the refinery. No casualties reported as yet/

The facility is said to be one of the region's largest refineries – processing over 400,000 barrels per day.

US energy giant Exxon Mobil is a co-owner, alongside Saudi Aramco.

Any disruption in the working of the refinery is expected to impact global energy markets.

attack follows a series of drone strikes targeting oil facilities in Kuwait, as well as overnight attacks on natural gas sites in Qatar and the United Arab Emirates, contributing to a surge in global energy prices.
