Some 600 Hezbollah Operatives Killed as Israel Bulldozes Through Lebanon

Israel’s military said it has killed nearly 600 Hezbollah operatives in ongoing operations in Lebanon, as cross-border fighting continues and the overall death toll in Lebanon surpasses 1,000.

Israeli military spokesperson Nadav Shoshani said on Thursday that 500 Hezbollah fighters had been killed during the current conflict, including 200 members of the group’s elite Radwan unit, without providing supporting evidence. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said around 570 Hezbollah operatives have been killed since the start of strikes in Lebanon.

According to the IDF, those killed include at least 220 Radwan Force members and 150 operatives linked to surface-to-surface missile systems. The military added that senior figures were among those killed, including two operatives of a rank equivalent to major-general, along with several others at brigadier, colonel, and battalion-command levels.

The Lebanese health ministry reported that at least 1,001 people have been killed, including 118 children and 79 women, while 2,584 others have been wounded.

More than one million people have been displaced amid continued Israeli airstrikes across southern Lebanon and Beirut’s southern suburbs.

Hezbollah has continued to fire rockets and drones into northern Israel, while its fighters have engaged Israeli ground forces in southern Lebanon.

IDF Arabic spokesperson Col. Avichay Adraee issued an evacuation warning to residents of seven neighborhoods in southern Beirut, including Haret Harik, Al-Jabiri, Al-Lilki, Hadath, Barj Al-Barajna, Tahuitat Al-Ghadir, and Al-Sheikh, stating that operations against Hezbollah infrastructure were intensifying.
