Iran has outlined six conditions to halt its ongoing conflict with the U.S. and Israel, including the implementation of a new legal regime for the Strait of Hormuz, a key global energy route.
This according to a security official speaking to Al Mayadeen, reports Iranian state-controlled Tasnim News Agency.
The official said Iran is executing a pre-planned strategy developed months earlier, proceeding step by step with what was described as “strategic patience.” He added that following reported strikes on opposing air defense systems, Iran now claims full control over its airspace.
According to the official, this position reduces the likelihood of a near-term ceasefire. He said Iran will continue what he described as a policy of “punishing the aggressor” until a “historic lesson” is delivered to the U.S., Israel, and U.S. President Donald Trump.
The official stated that regional actors and mediators have presented proposals aimed at ending the conflict, but Tehran has set conditions that it says must be addressed before any agreement is reached.
He outlined six conditions for halting the conflict, including guarantees against future war, the closure of U.S. military bases in the region, and compensation to Iran for damages. Additional demands include ending hostilities across all regional fronts, establishing a new legal regime governing the Strait of Hormuz, and the prosecution and extradition of individuals accused of anti-Iranian media activities.
