Russian forces from the Sever group published video footage online of the destruction of the latest American MAAWLR (Mobile Anti-Air Weapons Launcher Reconfigurable) air defense system in the Kharkiv region. The attack was carried out using several FPV drones.
This air defense system was first publicly unveiled in September 2025 at an exhibition in Maryland. This system can be mounted either stationary or on pickup trucks or trailers. The mobile version is called MAAWLR, while the stationary version is called BRAWLR.
According to its developer, Sierra Nevada Corp., a complete BRAWLR MAAWLR field kit consists of—a launcher with a prepared pickup, ammunition, and a local radar, depending on the missile type. A Unique feature of the MAAWLR is that it can accept air defense missiles of various manufacturers without changing the launcher.
Notably, the developer stated that these air defense systems had been transferred for combat testing since 2023. However, the country was not named.
