The U.S. has stationed dozens of refueling tankers in Israel, turning Ben Gurion Airport into a forward base for expanded attacks on Iran.
Washington has asked Israel to accept dozens more refueling aircraft, adding to the 30 already stationed there, Axios publication reported.
With daily nightime air raids against largely infrastructure targets in Iran such as bridges, telecom towers and even highways, the demand for aerial refueling has soared especially with US bases in Saudi Arabia and other Gulf states under intense Iranian attacks.
Israeli officials are reportedly concerned that the number of large US aircraft on the tarmac puts them in harm’s way should Iran carry out its threat to attacks countries that support American aggression against Iran.
Flightradar24 data on July 17 showed a significant movement of U.S. aerial refueling tankers toward Israel, while outbound military flights appear to be C-17 Globemaster III transport aircraft, indicating a continued buildup.
Iranian Navy targets American vessel in northern Indian Ocean
The Iranian Army said its Navy launched coast-to-sea cruise missiles at a hostile American vessel in the northern Indian Ocean during the 13th phase of Operation Saeqeh, Tasnim reported. Damage if any is not known.
Reports indicated that fuel depots belonging to U.S. forces in Kuwait have been completely incinerated. Besides, Al Jazeera reported that US multi-layered air defenses located in Oman, UAE and Saudi Arabia are completely failing to stop Iranian retaliatory strikes.
Iran “detains” tankers in Strait of Hormuz
Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps said it had detained four tankers in the Strait of Hormuz after they allegedly violated regulations while attempting to pass through the strategic waterway.
According to the IRGC, the operation involved the use of missiles and drones. The claim was not independently verified.
