Vectronix`s recent product launch of MOSKITO has considerably heighten the level of expectation today’s buyers have when selecting their solution for portable observation and location units. The unique and outstanding performance-to-weightratio of MOSKITO has set new standards. The popularity is also reflected by the large number of companies and organizations who will showcase MOSKITO at Eurosatory 2010. MOSKITO will be on display at Vectronix, Sagem, Saab, the German Armed Forces as well as the Thales (FIST) exhibit. The high adoption rate of customers worldwide is documented by the large number of products now on order at Vectronix, including the 2700 units to be delivered under the FIST (Future Integrated Soldier Technology) program in the UK. Colonel Bill Pointing, Team Leader Dismounted Soldier, British Armed Forces, points up MOSKITO’s popularity: „It takes the guess work out of working out what the range is. It's much better than the squad average. It is an excellent piece of kit for the section commander.” MOSKITO is the newest multifunction handheld device from Vectronix AG, incorporating a laser rangefinder, image intensifier, digital compass, inclinometer and internal GPS. MOSKITO combines all essential day and night viewing, measuring and geo-location functions into one compact and user friendly device. MOSKITO will display horizontal and height differences to target and can also compute relative values between two remote targets such as slope distance. Thanks to the MOSKITO’s high resolution glass optics, 5x day and 3x night magnification, users can quickly and easily locate and identify targets from a safe distance. C4I or C2I integrated MOSKITOs allow the commander to make better and faster decisions based on increased situational awareness. Furthermore, the important “sensorto- shooter” time for critical data information can be shortened – a key to accomplish the mission.
