Hydroid wins $8 million contract for vehicles by U.S.

Hydroid Inc., Pocasset, Mass., is being awarded an $8,435,742 cost-plus incentive-fee contract for Littoral Battlespace Sensing (LBS) Autonomous Undersea Vehicles (AUVs), and associated support equipment. This contract will provide the Program Executive Office-Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence and Space, Navy Communications Program Office, PMW-120 a technology for meteorological and oceanographic (METOC) data collection, processing, and data/product dissemination. This contract includes five option periods, which if exercised, will bring the contract value to $77,668,315. Work will be performed in Pocasset, Mass., and is expected to be completed by March 2012. If all options are exercised, deliveries of LBS-AUV will continue through FY 2017. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was competitively procured with using full and open competitive procedures via the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center E-commerce website, with three offers received. The Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command, San Diego, Calif., is the contracting activity.
