GD wins $59 million contract for tanks from US Defense

General Dynamics Lands System, Sterling Heights, Mich., was awarded on Feb. 23 a $59,084,086 firm-fixed-price contract. The award will provide for the purchase of up to 21 Abrams M1A2 System Enhancement Package Version Two upgrade tanks. Work will be performed in Lima, Ohio; Tallahassee, Fla.; Anniston, Ala.; Scranton, Penn.; and Sterling Heights, Mich., with an estimated completion date of June 30, 2013. One bid was solicited with one bid received. The U.S. Army TACOM LCMC, Army Contracting Command, Warren, Mich., is the contracting activity .
