A day after the Dassault Rafale won the Indian Multi Role Fighter Aircraft contest, it’s competitors have expressed their disappointment with the decision taken by the Indian MOD. BAE Systems' which is part of the Eurofighter consortium issued a statement saying, “Although this is not yet a contract signature and contract negotiations are still ahead, we are disappointed. However, we respect the decision of the Indian MoD". The statement also said, “With the Eurofighter Typhoon, we offered the Indian Air Force the most modern combat aircraft available. Based on the Indian Government feedback, we will now carefully analyze and evaluate this situation together with our European Partner Companies and their respective Governments". BAE Systems noted that along with partner Cassidian, both submitted an attractive and competitive proposal to supply Eurofighter Typhoon, the world’s most modern Medium Multi-Role Combat Aircraft available today which was categorically rejected by the Indian MOD.
