Presenting state-of-the-art satellite communication systems for submarines at the IFA International Exhibition Centre, UDT 2012 is Spanish defense giant, Indra. The T-Sub satellite communication system that has been installed on German U212, Portuguese U214 and the Spanish Navy’s S70 submarines will be showcased by the company. The T-Sub system is designed to offer a high voice and data transmission capacity on the x band and it’s also now available in Ku band. Indra will also present its RESM/CESM Signal Intelligence System that can detects any active radar and locates nearly 100% of radar and communication signals, including the weakest and those with the lowest probability of detection. The Spanish Navy’s new S-80 submarine will be equipped with the radar as it can recognize the electronic finger print of each radar, identifying the ship that carried it. Navantia’s S-80 submarine itself will be the centre of attention at the exhibition. The Spanish vessel emits an extremely low acoustic signature, exceptional manoeuvrability at low speed, highly automated systems, and the highest Air-Independent Propulsion (AIP) range in the market. Also attending the event is Aqua Lung, the maker of a range of military or professional diving equipment. The full line of equipment will include regulators, buoyancy compensators, analog and surface, tactical, water rescue, and SAR swimmer. Babcock International, Thales Underwater Systems, Lockheed Martin, Rolls Royce Canada, BMT Defence Services and Rheinmetall Defence Electronics will also be showcasing their products at the event. UDT 2012 will be hosted in Spain from 29 - 31 May allowing global players to meet, discuss and demonstrate undersea defense technology.
