Mer Systems, the Israeli security and communications systems provider, has launched a smart new portable meteorological defense system called the RaM2C. The system, will be unveiled during Eurosatory, June 11-15, in Paris, provides meteorological support to artillery units and various modes of shooting - from tanks, from the air, by snipers, as well as homeland security applications such as airport defense, fire-fighting, and NBC operations. The RaM2C provides a turnkey solution that delivers accurate weather data in real-time and enables precision shooting with minimum collateral damage, increasing mission effectiveness. Under battle conditions, the system can be easily transported and quickly deployed to optimize the use of munitions, maximize ground force efficiency, and allow the use of conventional, less costly weapons. With a link to global weather data sources the system interfaces with military command & control and communications systems, allowing the dissemination of the information to all relevant echelons.
