Russian aircraft maker Yakovlev will showcase its Yak-130 Mittentrainer/light attack aircraft at the Farnborough International Air Show. Yakovlev will be among 55 Russian companies, including 19 defense industry firms, to attend this year’s airshow. The Yak-130 is a highly maneuverable, subsonic two-seat jet aircraft plane with an extended range of about 2,000 kilometers and a maximum speed of 1,060 km/h. The aircraft can carry a combat payload of up to 3,000 kilograms. In 2009, Russia inducted 55 training aircraft from the com. And in 2011, Syria agreed to buy 36 Yak-130s for $550 million. The overall foreign market capacity for the Yak-130 is estimated at 250 aircraft.
