L-3 Unidyne Wins U.S Support Contract

L-3 Unidyne announced today that it has been awarded a contract valued at over $69 million to provide life-cycle support services for U.S. Navy towed arrays, including both surface ship and submarine applications. The purpose of the contract is to sustain a sufficient inventory of towed array assets to support operational and mission readiness of the submarines and surface ships that deploy them. Under the contract, L-3 Unidyne will upgrade, repair and refurbish vital towed array sonar systems, towed array sonar modules, towed array sonar components, tow cables, tow cable components, and ancillary equipment and components for all U.S. Navy and Foreign Military Sales (FMS) towed array sonar systems in the current inventory and those that may be developed over the course of the contract. “This is a significant win for L-3 Unidyne, and we are extremely pleased to be recognized for our exceptional record of providing outstanding products and services to the U.S. Navy,” said John Greene, president of L-3’s Marine Service Sector.
