Raytheon has announced that it has won a $23 million firm-fixed-price contract for supplying 24 Multi-Spectral Targeting systems to the US defense. The system is an airborne, electro-optic, forward-looking infra-red, turreted sensor that provides long-range surveillance, high altitude target acquisition, tracking, range-finding, and laser designation, and for tri-service and NATO laser guided munitions. The project is expected to be completed in 2013. The contract includes purchases for the government of Australia under the Foreign Military Sales (FMS) Program under FMS Case AT-P-SCF.
