Russia will begin testing two Italian-built armored vehicles which are expected to arrive in August ahead of a possible Russian order. Manufactured by vehicle maker Iveco and Finmeccanica unit Oto Melara, a Centauro wheeled tank with a 120mm gun and a Freccia armored vehicle with a 30mm gun was delivered earlier this year. According to an industry official, first trials will begin mid-September at a test site near Moscow and will conclude in March 2013. The test will be conducted on the current model and not the upgraded version of the Centauro tanks.
