India and China have agreed to restart the military exchange between the two countries which were halted in 2010. Defense Ministers from both countries agreed to high-level official exchanges, training of armed forces personnel at each other's facilities and maritime security cooperation between the two Navies. China’s Defense Minister Liang Guanglie arrived to India on Sunday, the first such trip in eight years. During the talks, they discussed the U.S’ plans to shift a bulk of its Navy to the Asia Pacific region and the presence of Chinese troops in the Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) region. Since 2010, there have been no military exchanges between the countries. The purpose of Gen Liang's call is to encourage "military mutual trust and cooperation between the two militaries and exchanges between the two militaries," Foreign Ministry spokesman Hong Lei said.
