Pakistan Navy Inducts P3C Maritime Patrol Aircraft

The Pakistani Navy has inducted the P3C Long Range Maritime Patrol Aircraft into its aviation fleet which it received from U.S under Security Assistance Programme. P3C aircraft will assist in maintaining protracted vigil over sea to meet the defence needs and safeguard maritime interests of Pakistan. M Asif Sandila, Pakistan Naval Chief Admiral, said, “The aircraft was a potent platform and will help in maintaining protracted vigil over sea and safeguarding maritime interests”. “Capacity building is essential to ensure security in the north Arabian Sea and to keep sea routes safe. Emphasising the importance of the north Arabian Sea” he added. Despite resource constraints, Pakistan navy ships, aircraft and personnel are regularly tasked as part of ongoing efforts by global community.
