Greg Combet, the Parliamentary Secretary for Defence Procurement, today announced that the Defence and Industry ePortal is operational and open for business.>> The ePortal provides links to Defence news, templates and other information to better assist industry to advertise their capabilities and access the latest industry news, said Mr Combet.>> Australian companies, particularly small to medium enterprises (SMEs), will be able to highlight their capabilities, and keep them up to date, for all contractors to discover.>> Any user of the web site is able to search publicly-available information. Registered users have additional search powers, and registered company representatives are able to add and update their company capability details.>> As registered users, my staff and I are now able to access links to information on 400 Australian companies and conduct capability searches, Mr Combet said.>> It is expected that the ePortal will eventually have up to 2,500 registered companies.>> In launching the www.DplusI.defence.gov.au web site ePortal, Mr Combet said that it is now possible for users to easily find accessible, accurate information on the current capabilities of companies in the Australian Defence industry sector.>> The choice of the domain name DplusI recognises the key role Defence Industry plays in supporting the operational capability of the Australian Defence Force.>> Through the ePortal Australian companies seeking business partners with complementary capabilities, will be able to identify partners for commercial business opportunities. Mr Combet said.
