Embraer and the Brazilian Air Force signed a contract, today, at LAAD Defence & Security, for providing logistical support and services for the fleet of 92 A-29 Super Tucano aircraft operated by the FAB.
The Integrated Logistical Support Program (Programa de Suporte Logistico Integrado - PSLI) covers the provision of supplies for scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, repairs, and overhauls of components, support for the landing gear and propeller groups, and specialized technical support, as well as the integrated logistics needed for moving materials and for planning.
The contract, for a total of R$ 252 million, includes a basic service package that comes to R$ 223 million and covers unexpected services, in the amount of R$ 29 million, for a period of five years.
PSLI is an integrated solution that increases the fleet's capability and mission readiness, with a fixed price and established performance requirements. The program is based on long-term business planning model that integrates an extensive network of partners and suppliers through centralized management with a significant reduction of operating and support costs.
"It is a great pleasure to contribute to the readiness and operations of Brazil's fleet of A-29 Super-Tucano aircraft," said Eduardo Bonini Santos Pinto, Senior Vice President, Operations, and COO of Embraer Defense & Security. "PSLI is a proven solution model and it will fully meet the needs of the FAB in fulfilling its missions."
"We are confident that the solution presented by Embraer Defense & Security will contribute to ensuring the operation of these aircraft under excellent conditions, and it provides the FAB with an efficient and economic use of its fleet," said Air Force Lieutenant-Brigadier Helio Paes de Barros Junior, FAB Commander-General of Support.
