DRS Technologies announced today it has been awarded a contract by the U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) to continue its maintenance, repair and overhaul work at the U.S. Coast Guard Aviation Logistics Center in Elizabeth City, North Carolina.
Under the contract, DRS's Technical Services group will continue to provide maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) services to Coast Guard C-130 aircraft for one year with yearly options to extend up to an additional four years. If all of the options are exercised by the Coast Guard, the contract could be worth up to $200 million.
For more than three years, DRS's top-of-the-line MRO facility in Elizabeth City, North Carolina has been servicing the Coast Guard's C-130 fleet and ensuring the aircraft are kept mission-ready. The DRS North Carolina site includes two modern aircraft modification, repair and overhaul facilities, each over 100,000 square feet.
"We look forward to renewing our commitment to provide safe, on schedule, mission-ready aircraft for our valued Coast Guard customers with the highest quality workmanship to meet all mission requirements," said Don Davis, vice president of operations for DRS's Technical Services group. "It is a privilege to support the men and women of the USCG and we take great pride in our service and delivery of aircraft ready to fly the mission. Over 240 DRS employees contributed to this award by performing with excellence over the past 41 months."
