HAL, Dassault Discuss On-going Projects At Paris Air Show

On the sidelines of the Paris Air Show, top executives from HAL and Dassault Aviation sat down to review the progress of ongoing projects, according to an official statement.

It is unclear if the two discussed the delays with the MMRCA contract which India and France are expected to sign this year. The delay has been a result of Hindustan Aeronautics Limited’s role in the multi-billion dollar MMRCA deal; which Dassault has asked the Indian Ministry of Defense to formally identify. Eighteen of the 126 planes are to
be purchased directly from Dassault, while HAL will manufacture the other 108 under a licence at an upcoming facility in Bangalore.

“Both the teams expressed satisfaction on the work already achieved by the integrated teams and renewed their commitment towards successful completion of the various projects,” the statement added.

Dassault in November opened a subsidiary company India named Dassault Aircraft Services India Private Limited (DASIPL) and it is wholly owned by its French parent company.
