Elbit Systems yesterday delivered the newest full Flight simulator for training Seaking naval helicopter aircrews.
The Seaking Helicopter Full flight Simulator is a Flight and Tactical Full Flight Mission Simulator designed specifically for Navy's commando airlift and anti-submarine warfare operations squadrons. With high fidelity aircraft and flight models - just like the actual aircraft, the Seaking full-flight simulator is designed for Seaking pilots and observers including initial and periodic training as well as evaluation of new procedures and doctrines.
The Seaking simulator is a PC-based system with glass cockpit, collimated visuals and an electro-pneumatic system with six degrees of freedom for the full range of flight operations experience. It incorporates a roll-on-roll-off system, so any relevant platform can be plugged in, such as that of the cockpit of an Advanced Special Operations Helicopter for example.
The simulator can simulate various naval warship deck landings, emergencies and night flying with night vision goggles for a complete air crew experience. The Full Flight Simulator is also equipped with a rear cabin crew simulator to enable joint training of pilots, system operators and crews under varying flight and operational conditions. The newly commissioned Seaking FFS maintenance & support for the next seven years will be provided to the Navy by Elbit Systems.
Yoram Shmuely, General Manager of Elbit Systems’ Aerospace Division commented: “We are proud to be a part of this important project for naval aircrews. We continue to enhance our Full flight Simulators offerings and continue providing best in class full spectrum simulators with advanced systems and training infrastructure, as well as the full suite of maintenance and logistics support services”.
