Poland’s Ministry of Defence is considering the purchase of Ukrainian-built anti-tank and missile defence systems for its fleet of Mil Mi-24 combat helicopters.

The Deputy Defense Minister for Weapons and Arms Modernization Waldemar Skrzypczak - discussed bilateral military and technical cooperation during the international exhibition Defense & Security 2013, which is taking place in Bangkok on November 4-7. The purchase is the implementation of a weapons modernization program.

"The Armed Forces of the Republic of Poland plan to upgrade their anti-tank systems and modernize the weapons of their combat helicopters," Skrzypczak was quoted as saying by Interfax-Ukraine.

"We are ready to consider the acquisition of Ukrainian-produced advanced 105mm anti-tank guided missiles which were developed by the Promin State Design Bureau. We are also interested in the joint production of high-precision weapons," Skrzypczak added.

This proposal of the Polish defense ministry will be discussed at a meeting of the Ukrainian-Polish sub-commission for cooperation in the defense industry, which will take place in Kyiv in November.
