Exelis has won a contract valued at $10.9 million to provide ARC-201D radios for installation in US Army UH-60M Blackhawk and CH-47F Chinook helicopters.

The ARC-201D is the primary Army Aviation voice communications radio and the only qualified SINCGARS (Single Channel Ground and Airborne Radio System) capable airborne radio for these two helicopters. It provides voice and data communications with networking and anti-jamming capabilities.

"With nearly 600,000 SINCGARS delivered to the Army to date, the ARC-201D easily integrates into the Army's critical network on the battlefield providing proven, robust and secure communications for warfighters," said Nick Bobay, president of the Exelis Night Vision & Communications Solutions division.
