Tata-Lockheed Made Aerostructuctures To Fly In C-130s Worldwide

India-based firm Tata Advanced Systems has partnered with Lockheed Martin to co-produce major aerostructure components to fly in all future C-130J Super Hercules.

At the Defexpo 2014, Lockheed Martin will highlight its 20-year history with India and discuss new areas for partnership and collaboration with its valued customers, in addition to display of various programs including C-130J Super Hercules, Aegis Combat System and tactical missiles like Javelin and DAGR.

“Lockheed Martin is looking forward to meeting with a variety of customers and partners at Defexpo,” said Phil Shaw, Lockheed Martin Chief Executive, India. “We are committed to expanding our business in India, and I believe our portfolio of defense and security capabilities aligns well with the needs and requirements in the region. We are excited to continue discussions as we look for new and innovative ways to support our Indian customers.”

Lockheed Martin also has a joint venture in Gurgaon, India with Fly Wings Aviation to provide simulator training to India’s domestic airlines flying Boeing 737 and Airbus A320 aircraft.

Other commitments of Lockheed Martin with the region includes the DST-Lockheed Martin India Innovation Growth Programme, and the support to IIT Delhi for research in the nano-bio technology field.
