Singapore’s potential acquisition of F-35B fighter jets ups the defence game in South East Asia like no other procurement in recent years.

The tiny city-state plans to use the Short Take-off and Vertical Landing (STOVL) Jets in a unique manner-

The aircraft will be based on land as well on Joint Multi-Mission Ship (JMMS) which are yet to be manufactured.

The F-35Bs would hop from several JMMS ships based off the coast of Singapore to conduct deterrence missions.
