IAF C-130J Crashes While On Routine Training Mission

An Indian Air Force C-130J Super Hercules, deployed earlier in the MH370 search operations, has crashed west of the Indian city of Gwalior this morning, Indian media reports said.

The Indian Air Force’s media wing could not be reached for comment.

The aircraft, which belongs to the 77 'Veiled Vipers' Squadron, was reportedly on a routine flying training mission. Unconfirmed reports says that all five crew members are feared dead.

The multi-role special operations aircraft,  was also used in relief operations after the Uttarakhand floods and for a recent landing at Daulat Beg Oldie near the border with China, according to local media reports.

The Gwalior incident makes this the second ever crash for the C-130J which previously went down after flying into a mountain in Norway.
