Dassault CEO Eric Trappier Signing Egypt's Rafale Contract

Dassault has decided to double the production from 11 and the number of annual deliveries would increase from 2018.

Dassault Aviation Chief Executive Eric Trappier was quoted as saying by Reuters on Monday that he had decided to raise Rafale production in anticipation of further export orders for the fighter jet.

“The number of annual Rafale deliveries would increase from 2018, adding that the rate could at least double from 11 currently,” he said.

Dassault is expecting to sign a contract for 36 Rafales with India in the coming months.

With 48 firm export orders from Egypt and Qatar plus the 36 expected Indian order to be delivered by 2021, Dassault will have to ensure a production rate of three aircrafts a month, a three–fold expansion of its existing Rafale production capacity.
