Russia to Loan Bangladesh $1 Billion To Purchase 7 Mi-171 Helicopters

Russia will supply six Mil Mi-171Sh military and transport helicopters and one Mi-171E rotorcraft to Bangladesh, according to a contract signed during last April.

Russia would provide Bangladesh a $1 billion loan for the purchase of Russian helicopters. 

"A contract was signed in April 2015 on the delivery of six Mi-171Sh military and transport helicopters, and also one Mi-171E transport helicopter in its Salon option," Rosoboronexport First Deputy CEO Ivan Goncharenko was quoted as saying on Monday in a report by TASS.

Goncharenko said ahead of the MAKS-2015 air show opening outside Moscow.

According to previously reports that Russia and Bangladesh had agreed in April 2015 on the delivery of five Mi-171Sh helicopters.
