Russian launched a missile attack on a military training ground near Kyiv today where a weapons

and unmanned systems exhibition was underway, killing 10 and injuring over 100.

Presidential advisor Serhii Beskrestnov told Ukrainian media that the event was taking place at a training ground near Kyiv located along the Zhytomyr highway, adding there were "many injured and killed."

The Ukrainian Council of Defense Industry said in a post on social media that "an enemy missile strike occurred in the Kyiv region at a location where representatives of the Ukrainian defense industry were present."

Air-raid sirens rang out around 11:20 a.m., with Ukraine's Air Force reporting Russian missiles heading to the Ukrainian capital. A few minutes later, Kyiv Mayor Vitalii Klitschko reported explosions in the city, “The blow was very serious,” he said.

Security lax?

On Ukrainian social media, questions are being asked about the event's security. Images circulated of flyers advertising the event, as well as invitations featuring registration links from which attendees could obtain location information.

"I don’t even know how to comment on this… What else needs to happen for there to finally be some awareness of the possible consequences of such actions?" one popular Telegram monitoring channel posted.

The government has ordered an inquiry into how an exhibition was held within range of Russian missiles.
